Smiley tutorial
Animation

Ok lets make an animated smiley now. .

First make a smiley in the same way as in the smiley tutorial but with eyes you can animate.

Right now press the duplicate button to make a new frame.
( F:2 at the bottom of the images show which frame is which )

Now change one of the eyes using the paint brush to make it look as if it is closing.
Make sure you use the same colours as the image to do this.
( After you have changed frame 2 (F:2) click on the arrow then click on the image you have just
changed this will stop you from duplicating both frames , do this everytime you make a new frame )

Now click on the view animation button.
This will allow you to see what the smiley looks like as you are doing it.

Right continue to make the changes to the eye till it is closed.

Now the eye is closed start to open it again till it is one image away from being fully open .
( Do the same images as you did when you closed the eye but in reverse order )

by darkside

The reason for stopping one frame before the eye is fully open is it will start fully open again at the
first frame(F:1) so you do not need to fully open it as it will loop the animation from that point.

Now you need to change the length of time the eye stays open & closed for.
Click on the arrow then click on frame 1 (F:1)to make sure you change the right one.
Right click over frame 1 (F:1) & then chose Frame Properties.

Now change the Display Time to how fast/slow you would like it to be
(I changed frame 1 (F:1) to 560 & frame 5 (F:5)( the one with the eye closed ) to 70)

by darkside

Now go to the top click on File then on the drop down menu click Save As
make sure you save it as a gif image.
Saving it as a gif image will allow you to make changes to it if you dont like the finished animation
or even make it blink if you make both eyes close at the same time.

The finished image should look somthing like this by darkside
